ATF: North Trail - AC not flowing through duct work

My AC is working great at the unit but when I close the vents to force the air through the duct work in the ceiling I'm not getting anything.

I'm very pleased with how well the actual unit itself works, but we would like to have air blowing throughout the camper when we sleep. I called Camping World about the problem and they were less than helpful... If anyone can offer a solution or some ideas for fixing this issue I would really appreciate it!

I have a 2015 Prowler P-289 and am my second trip, and have the same problem with my Dometic a/c. In the bedroom and bathroom there is very little air flow, while in the living area it blows well. Another problem with the air grills, no way to regulate the force of the air flow and directional only changes slightly. Also the unit humms and is loud when running and at time runs for a few seconds and shuts off for a few seconds and then runs again for a few seconds. This goes on until I shut it down for awhile and restatrt the unit. No the vent at the unit is not open. Anyone having these problems?

My AC units are doing the same thing...cycling on and off until I shut them down for a few minutes and restart them. The rear bedroom where the main AC is located has very little air flow out of those cents but blows well in the front. The AC in the front doesn't make the rear air flow any better either. Do you think the cycling is due to low freon? Any thoughts on the low air flow?

Do you have the thermostat set for high or low cool? Does any airflow in the direction of the thermostat?

I recently had a few issues with no air flow in my AC's. When you look at the unit and remove the thin grill and filter cover there was a panel inside the unit. This panel was curved and had had some type of insulation tape on it. Mine had actually come loose and all the unit was doing was recirculating the air from the blower area to the intake area and very little air coming out of the vents. I took the bottom face panel off. a total of 4 screws. Removed the loose panel and peeled off the insulation tape. I had duct tape available so that is what I used to put the bypass panel back in place. As a temporary solution until I can do the tent method as seen on earlier post here I duct taped the opening closed on the supply side to force air into the small ducts. I did this all while out on the road so very easy to do. I hope this helps.

While replacing my dead 3 month old A/C unit last month i noticed that the same panel had come un-taped and allowed the cold air to just recirculate back into the intake. I also used duct tape to fasten the panel back into place and also re-taped the side ducts where the air goes into the roof duct channels because they too where not taped very well. cools better than ever now.

I noticed that as well with the ducts but figured I would re-visit the issue. Did you do the tent method to force air into the ducts?

Same issue here on a new 29rets. I closed off all the ducted vents in the main living area and it directed quite a bit more air volume into the bedroom. If i need more ac in the living area during the day i open the vents on the ceiling unit.
