Bedroom a/c anemic, solutions?

Greetings all, we have a 2014 Sundance 3310mks, with a single A/C, and notice it's very anemic in the bedroom. Our old 1998 fleet wood was just as big, also had single a/c, and was much better cooling all round. Now I know the obvious solution is to buy a second unit. However, can I expect better cooling in the bedroom if I seal some ceiling vents in the back of the unit? And if so, how much. I am a night shift worker, so a comfortable bedroom during the day is really important to me. Thanks in advance

Hi Gord_Connell,

Congratulations on your new Sundance and welcome to the Heartland Owners Club and to the family.

If it's hot out and you're trying to sleep in the bedroom during the day, I'd suggest going with the obvious solution.

I don't know your unit so my advice might not fit but you can purchase at Home Depot (can't find them at Lowes) round plastic vents that can be rotated to close. You could close these during the day to force more air up to the bedroom. They are like $20 each.

They fit perfectly in the round holes in my 2013. It takes 5 - 7 turns to close them.

Update: Thanks so much for both your suggestions. I've ordered ceiling registers (that have a damper), via my dealerships' online catalogue, for around $10 each. I'm hoping they will do the job. If not I'll definitely go with the second A/C. BTW we really love this new fifth wheel - the dual fridges, bath-tub, and the larger bedroom are significant improvement over our old Savana by Fleetwood
