Bedroom slideout seal

When I bought my 2009 BC 3250 TS the lower bedroom slideout seal was
going between the bottom of the slideout and the slide rollers when the slide was brought in. The tec decided to cut two 6 inch notches out of the seal in front of the rollers. I would like to know if this is the right way to repair the problem and if not what is the right way.

I'm having the same problem with my 2009 3370RL Bedroom slideout. Bottom outer black rubber seal is getting caught between the slide floor and roller when closing the slide. It has damaged the seal beyond repair. This is a new unit and my dealer has been advised, but cutting the seal to fit doesn't seem to me to be the proper fix.
