Big Country - Refrigerator

We recently purchased a preowned 2010 Big Country 2950rk. I believe the fridge is missing a solid plastic piece that rests on the wire shelf directly over the veggie drawers (crispers). I need the model number of the fridge used in the 2010, however, our trailer is in winter storage with the batteries removed making it impossible to access the fridge. Please help!

If you have the VIN from the registration papers, call Heartland Customer Service. They may be able to identify which model was installed in that rig and identify the part you're looking for. The part, itself, may have to be obtained from Dometic since HL doesn't normally stock parts for appliances. If you could access the fridge, the model info tag is usually on the door frame when you open it.

Hi TeddyB,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum and Family. We have a great bunch of people here with lots of information and all willing to share their knowledge when needed.

I suggest you call Heartland Customer Service, 877-262-8032, and ask. Have your VIN number of the trailer when you call. You should have it on the paper work. They may have used a couple different models, this way you know for sure.

Also if it's just the piece of plastic you need, just get the measurements next spring when you thaw out and go to any of the bigger hardware stores and buy a piece of the plastic. They usually will even cut it to size for you.

Enjoy the forum.

Good call on the plastic sheet, Jim. I forgot that it's more of a "dust cover" for the two veggie containers than a real load bearing surface. Home centers, like HD or Lowe's, usually carry smaller pieces of plexiglass that are easy to cut.
