Help! Camped last weekend..all was well..resort pulled 2011 3595 Big Country to storage on Monday...pulled back to site on Friday morning...when we arrived and set up, commode was pushed up from floor 2 inches!!!called dealer and was told probaly ran over something and pushed tank up...black corrugated underbelly hasn't got a mark on it...pulled pastic back and black tank looks as if bottom is blown down 5-6 inches? Does anyone know if tank bottom is supposed to be flat? Can't figure this one out!

Not exactly flat, since the bottom is supposed to slope towards the valve so it can drain. When empty, the tank may appear to be suspended above the support straps, but as it fills, the weight bulges the bottom tighter into the supports. I don't know what your basement looks like, but my black tank is actually under the main floor and only the drain pipe sticks up.

In the photo, the black tank can be seen below the main floor section, with the toilet drain passing upwards. Above it is the floor for the bathroom and bedroom. And I've had my black tank filled to capacity without the toilet being displaced, but I've never moved the trailer with a full tank.

This does beg the question, though. Was the tank full or empty when the resort jostled it around? If it was full and they gave it a jolt, perhaps the weight was enough to cause it to bounce up and shove the plumbing with it. But I think in mine, at least, the tank is pretty tight to the bottom of the floor it's under.

Was the tank full or empty when it was parked?? If a tank is over filled it normally will run up into the toilet and over flow. Just a dumb question? Who hooked up your coach to shore water....you or the CG. Is it possible the water hose from the shore was hooked to the FLUSH port and not to the FRESH water port??

Well!!! I installed a clear waste hose cleaning fitting in line of waste drain...factory has installed gray tank #1 and Black water valve in reverse. When I supposedly was cleaning black water tank with built in cleaning sprayer, I actually had black water tank valve closed and had gray water tank#1 valve opened. So, all the waste we have accumulated in 8 trips was not being cleaned out of black water tank when running flusher. Still can not figure out how black tank pressurized enough to force commode up from floor and expand tank like this. Vent pipe must have restriction or something. I requested Heartland forward me a mechanical drawing of waste tanks, valves, vents, etc. concerning plumbing so I can see what other problems might exist. Also, when I opened up basement to inspect tanks I was amazed at all the junk left in tank area during manufacturing. Saw dust, odd screws, beveled washer for sink p-trap, package of screws, odd piesces of paper, etc. Makes one wonder what else lies beneath the pretty exterior.....

I had a similar experience with my black tank. Someone, who shall remain nameless hooked up the city water to the flusher connection when we were setting up the trailer on our way home last spring. First we had air bubbling out of the toilet and then a small eruption from the vent on the roof. The toilet did lift about 2". I was able to wiggle it back down and re-secure it. My black tank always drains OK so I believe that something floated up and restricted the vent path from the trailer. Fortunately the tank was fairly clean at the time having been recently flushed. One of my grey tank valves recently stuck open and I found some plastic debris in it when I took it apart. I suspect that the black tank may have similar debris in it. I also think that the pipe from the toilet to the black tank is not glued in as I was able to wiggle it back down into place. My black tank is leak free ( I had the underbelly Coroplast down a few weeks ago and it was dry)

In many instances the round cutout on the tank which was made for the hose to connect falls inside the tank. Therefore the plastic debris you saw was probably the cutout that worked its way out of the tank. Sometimes that will stop up the drain pipe too.
