Black Tank Gate Valve Leaking - Repair Attempt

2021 4006 model, it is the rear black tank. We don't use it very much but after a couple months it began seeping. I keep a KingFlush on the end of the sewer discharge with a clear elbow so it was easy to detect the leaking over time.

Mobile repair tech lowered underbelly and examined gate valve. Heartland set valve at a 45 degree angle during the build instead of straight across. This forces the long cable which comes from the other side to flex down then back up at a too sharp of an angle before getting to the gate valve. After several openings/closings the cable developed a kink in it, thus not allowing it to close tight.

He recut and bent the cable and right now it is working as designed. Only time will tell if a new cable will be required. In addition the entire gate valve assembly may have to be removed from the tank and installed correctly.

Thanks Heartland for another sloppy improperly installed item on my fiver!
