Blown fuse

Just bought a 37 ultimate, and I blow the landing leg fuse (30 amp) every time I use the remote to operate the front legs, so that the switch on the camper does not work. I can still operate the landing legs using the remote. Dealer says this is common, anyone else have this problem.

Having a little trouble following your description. Does operating with the switch blow the fuse too?

The fuse will blow if you don't stop soon enough and the stops welded to the legs hit the frame and keep them from moving. Everybody has this problem when they first get them. You can replace the fuse with an auto reset circuit breaker that will plug into the fuse holder. Some say not to do this because they take a little longer to blow and can cause damage to the motor or gearbox because of that...I don't know. Don

The dealer is giving you a bunch of crap. When you use your remote you seem to blow the fuse. I would check to make sure the legs are not hitting or getting jammed when using the remote. Maybe you are holding the button too long and do no realize it. It could be a losse wire probelm. I would call heartland and deal with them directly. If it blows every once in a while I would not be too concerned. But blowing everytime you use your remote is not right. That is like saying your GFI trips everytime you use it and the builder telling you that is common.

If you raise the legs too far the fuze will surely blow.....what I did was lower the legs about 2" from the top then I painted the space on the leg bright red so when the red gets to the top I stop the legs from going up......No more blown fuzes.........

This problem happens only when I use the remote, if I don't use the remote, the legs work fine. Once I use the remote, I cannot use the outside switch until I replace the 30 amp fuse in the battery compartment. I did not raise the legs too far, this happens regardless of the leg height. I will contact heartland, I don't want to take it to the dealer to fix, this is a 400 mile round trip.

Think I have a solution, finally got it to a dealer, they were not able to replicate the problem, but they did tell me that a low battery could cause the issue.

Had the same problem on my BC when I set up at the Sweetheart Rally last week. It has done it twice and I never run it all the way up. Look for a pink wire coming off of the switch and follow it. The wire actually went from pink to red/wht and back to pink. It should take you to a 30A inline fuse. In my case the fuse was hidden behind the battery. Hope this helps.
