By Pass value nut leaking

Well I guess I'm special. Saying that is because my
leak is not from a pex line or the value itself. No
my leak is from a pinhole in the nut that attaches
to the by pass value!

In doing a search on "by pass values" I could
not find anyone with this condition. This being
the holiday weekend no one (rv dealer) are
open.

The leak is a drip drip drip. Has anyone found
a way to to fix a plastic nut?

thanks,
Phelpo

Just a thought here, but I doubt that the nut is the problem.
The valve should be sealed and the nut is just there to hold it in place.
I think you need to look a little closer for a cracked valve body or faulty O-ring.

Peace

Home Depot has 1/2 inch PEX fittings. You MAY be able to temporarily fix the problem with silicone self fusing tape, i.e. "Miracle Tape". If you don't want to invest in a PEX crimping tool, you may want to look at the Sharkbite brand PEX fittings at Home Depot, which require no crimping. http://www.sharkbite.com/

thanks guys for the input. I blew off the water on the
nut and it reappears in the middle of the nut, not at
the top but in the darn middle.

See I'm special

any idea who makes the by pass value? B & B does not show it on
their web site. I''m trying to figure out the size of the nut before
calling rv dealers. Thanks to all

If you ask for a fitting for 1/2" pex, that'll probably get you the correct one. I doubt there are different size nuts.

had to cut the three pex tubes to get by pass valve out.

Found out that the value is one piece, what looked like
a lg nut wasn't. Now to find a complete valve

Any ideas?

Check out the guides on this Heartland Manuals Section: http://manuals.heartlandowners.org/?man=/Plumbing/UDC/Anderson

My guess is that you have an Anderson 200 valve. Call Heartland Service with your VIN to confirm this, and possibly get it from them.
Here is a link on the Anderson valve: http://www.andersonbrass.com/rv_4_function_fill_station.php
I found one place to order the valves online: http://www.fitzilla.com/Store/page188.html

Good Luck!!!

Are we talking about the hot water heater bypass valve, or the Anderson 4-way valve, or an antifreeze suction valve?

I purchased my replacement B&B Molder 3-way valves with 1/2" NPT Apollo three way brass ball valves from Amazon for about 1/2 the price from Swan Industries. You will have to do some minor modifications to the B&B Molders face plate that secures the valve to the wall of the UDC.
