Call the honey wagon!

My wife and I (plus the two teenagers and assorted visiting guests) were away for the extended weekend. We left on Thursday to get a head start. Between inexperienced visitors (aside from the kids) and just too many people, our grey and black tanks didn't last as long as I had inticipated. My wife freaked out when the water backed up at the base of the shower. While the black tank showed full (sensors of course) a quick check by flashlight showed that it was fine.

Nevertheless I was forced to call around on a holiday weekend for a honey wagon service. About 5 hours later and $50 lighter in my pocket - all was well again. It was too difficult to contemplate packing up and going to the dump station as we were expecting dinner guests within the hour. Oh well - at least my wife was happy again.

PS - that was yesterday. This morning we both realized that we had forgotten that it was our 23 anniversary! What a way to spend it!

We have one of those that rides in the front of our truck bed ahead of the hitch. Our home campground doesn't have sewer hookups and I really don't relish hooking up the trailer to pull it to the dump station every weekend. We pull ours around with the dually using a 2" ball in the receiver hitch.

I've considered it but 99% of the CG are full service (that we stay at) and I really don't want to lug the thing around in my garage for the 1%.

makes sense. It sure works for us though because we go a lot of places, typically airfields that may not even have power/water hookups, let alone sewer.

This is the last went we went to at Hodges Hobbies in Americus GA, cool place for sure. They had a dump station to extreme left of that photo, we were on the far right.

BTW, I spoke with the CG management (they just took over the CG this year) and suggested they acquire a 'rental' portable tank. They were agreeable (not that it helped me at that point in time).

Well first you have to teach your guests about water conservation when dumping is not convenient .
Get one of the flush king adapters. This will allow you to tie your two gray tanks together.
And in a real pinch - your black tank.

Haven't had to use it with the BH, but I'm kinda glad I kept the 25 gal. Tote Tank from our TT. Might just have to strap it on the ladder if we ever do boondock or use a state park again.

We've got the 33 gallon model and use it mostly for grey water in state and federal parks. As someone said earlier, we just hook it up to the trailer ball and (SLOWLY) pull it to the dump station. Works like a champ. We only take it if we know we are camping where there are no sewer hookups. For rallys and the like it stays home.
