I just got done washing the outside with Dawn dish soap works good on black streaks and doesn't take off the wax a plus.

trdeal, when I did mine, I used the orbital buffer for applying the wax. That way the buffing pad is always wet an no chance for heat buildup. Then buff it by hand, with a terry towel. I have no swirl marks.

Far as I know, Dawn is pretty good for stripping the wax off. Maybe you had a very light concentration of it.

Ditto on the dawn, it does remove wax, not sure of dilution.
