No place to set a glass of wine or cheese, etc., when entertaining that could be reached without having to get up out of your chair or off of the sofa, was a big short coming for us. I knew some of the later and larger models have a table and I initially thought of having one made but simple did not have the space for it--until I came up with the idea of drop down tops for the foot stools. These would be even easier for a flat-top ottoman style but with the added ledge to the interior on one side, they work great and easily stow behind the chairs.
