You know I've never thought to look there, primarily because you'd have to bend in ways my old body doesn't go, but now that you've piqued my curiosity, I'll have to figure out a way to look. I'm wondering if I could blow fiberglass in the space.

If there is a void not exposed to moisture or the elements use some fiberglass batten insulation.
Lots of that already in your rig.

The void in the overhand does contain wires. At least on my 2012. You may be able to push some bat insulation in there. I have added some wire to that space for accessories. I try to avoid the cold weather, did it once and did not like it. If it becomes a concern, I might add a space heater to the forward storage

Forgot to mention, that space is also open to the hitch pin. And my front cabinet is also open to free space (aka not sealed).
