I was going through my RV downloads files on my computer this morning, and came across an RV Electric Brakes Manual from Dexter Axle that I had downloaded. I found this to be pretty comprehensive, and will forward to the Heartland Tools/Manuals people. I will attach it at the end of this post.
I also came across my Tekonsha P3 brake controller manual, and noted a significant warning there: "Warning! Boost setting will be cleared under abnormally low battery conditions. Check boost setting after starting vehicle." The high instantaneous current drain involved in starting your vehicle can cause momentary low supply voltage that will reset your controller. So besides doing a manual braking check, you need to check your controllers boost setting before starting out on a tow.
