Direct TV Genie with Wireless remote

Has anyone used a Direct TV Genie
and let your camping buddy use the remote wireless receiver so they could have Cinemax , HBO , ESON,etc?

Not sure the distance but we take ours outside regularly without a problem, probably 35-40 ft.
