We got in some 50 MPH gusts last April between Big Bend NP and Fort Stockton. This is my worst towing experience to date. Even the white-out for 40 miles in the Bighorn Mountains south of Custer Battlefield was not as bad. I will never attempt that again. If at all possible stay put until the wind dies down, it's not worth the risk.
