EMP and Propane frige!

My wife and I are writting a book that revolves around an EMP burst. I was wondering would you be able to run the frige on propane afterwards? I am sure that all the Alt Current stuff would be destroyed, but what about the refrige?

The fridge has a control board powered by 12V DC that operates the propane valve to light the burner. The board also interacts with the thermistor and other components. I'd expect the fridge control board, along with comparable boards in the furnace and water heater to be vulnerable to damage from an EMP burst to the same extent any circuit board would be.

Hmm, good question. I would think that depending on the type of pulse it could damage or render inoperable the DC components.
I'm sure that a large EMP such as lightning could destroy DC circuits.
