Good idea. You're going to like the area. One great place is about 20 or so miles north near Reedsport at Winchester Bay. I don't know if you can drive right on the beach, but you can drive on the dunes.

Thank you Kristy, will take a trip there, and I'll ask around if we can go all the way by beach

Welcome Carlos and Kindra!

That makes it 29 registered for the rally using 28 or our 30 sites (Beletti's are registered at the hotel). That leaves just 2 sites to fill our block and only a few days before they get turned back to the park.

If you or anyone you know are thinking about joining us, don't wait. Call the reservation number and post it or email me so I can add you to the list.

See you in a few weeks!

I just updated the first post with the latest registrations, payments, and notes.

We have another couple registered tonight after just joining the club today. They will take delivery of their new Bighorn this week. Help me welcome Phil and Vickie Stephens from Grants Pass. Their user name is Angel-Raider.

Another announcement -

I will be out of commission for a few days starting later this week. I have back surgery (yes again...) this coming Thursday. It should have minimal affect on the rally if all turns out the way it is supposed to. I should be up and around a couple of weeks after I get home (on Friday) and intend keep all of our camping reservations for the year. I reason that I can recover as well in our Landmark as I can in our house, so as soon as I can ride reasonable distances in the truck, we will be on the road.

Rally t-shirts are finished and have shipped out to us as have this year's rally badge hangers. Once surgery is over and school is out (happens at the same time this year) I will be able to get serious about getting organized and making shopping lists for Mark. He can hardly wait! He loves to go shopping!!!!! Not.:D

Welcome Vickie and Phil!! You are in for a good time and will meet a bunch of great people at the Oregon Rally. You are also welcome to join us the week before in Leavenworth (Monitor) Washington the week prior for the Washington Rally and tag along for the Caravan down to the Oregon Rally. If you might be interested, check out the Washington Rally Post. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me about it.

Sorry about that Rod. I thought all the spots for the WA rally were taken so I didn't mention it. Are there sites left?

Yes, we have one site left and I have it on good authority that another will "probably" become available within the next couple weeks

Hope all went well with the surgery? Have not seen any post from you as to how things went. Hope you are feeling better. See ya in a few weeks.

Thanks. Surgery went well and I'm just dealing with the usual post-op stuff. I'm walking well, up to a quarter of a mile at a time. Not bad for 11days after surgery. As long as I can build up my ability to ride for a couple of hours at a time, things should be fine for rallies.

I will be wearing a brace and unable to lift things, but we never have a shortage of people willing to help.

Kristy I glad you are doing well. I am another who will depend on others for some help during the two rallies. I had open heart surgery one month ago tomorrow. Cleared me for driving Thursday and upped my 'load' to 10 lbs. Should be up to 20 lbs. by July 15th. Have been progressing faster than Dr.s thought I would by quite a bit so have to remember to not do something stupid.

Bruce,
Good to hear from you! Sorry about the heart surgery. That recovery can take a long time so I'm glad yours is going well. We do not want you doing something stupid! Im still not allowed to lift more than a gallon of milk for at least the next two weeks, so I know how it feels to not be able to do things without thinking first to see if it is safe. I'm sure there will be plenty of people who can help you out the whole time with Mark being at the top of the list.

For those we were supposed to meet at Caseys over the 4th of July:

That was to be the first stop on our long trip between rallies.
Today we had to cancel the first part of our rally trip. We were going to start at Caseys the first of July. I don't feel like my ability to ride in the truck for the period of time it will take to get there is quite where it needs to be. I have a dr appt the sixth which would have required us to leave the trailer at Caseys overnight to get down to the dr and back. That many round trips just isn't a good idea. I Hate It When My Body Stops Me From Doing What I Want To Do!

We will get to Caseys on the 7th. I will rest up on the 8th and we will move to Maryhill on the 9th. After a few days, we will move on to the WA rally and so on. I really hope that is the only adjustment I have to make to the trip.

So, sounds like Bruce and I will be spending some time sitting in our chairs being waited on! I will bring the Fireball, but I don't know if I will get to drink it. Darn!

That's all for updates so far. I will keep you posted if/when there are further developments.

What are some of the food items needed for the Pot Luck Dinner. I checked over the first posting and I don't see anything listed as what to bring. Thanks

I hadn't really announced anything about that yet, but with this large a group it is probably better if we split it up evenly.

Saturday Potluck-

How about Last Name A-L bring salad or veggie.
Last Name M-Z bring dessert.

Please bring enough to feed 10-12 people with your dish. We will have about 60 people to feed all together.

We will be having tri tip and BBQ chicken. Mark and I will be providing dinner rolls and butter.

I will put a complete schedule in your registration. packet that you will pick up Friday afternoon. There will also be a signup for volunteering with chores

Friday night we will be going as a group for a no host pizza dinner. It is not required, so those who wish to do something else for dinner can join us at the campfire afterward, but we hope everyone likes this idea.

I will order shuttles to pizza so we don't all have to drive. There isn't that much parking down there.

Saturday AM bring raffle prizes (unwrapped, new and worth around $15-$20) to site 26. Danish and/or Bagels and coffee will be provided.

While I'm at it, I will be seeking prices on catering our breakfast Sunday AM instead of our usual burritos. I am not full strength yet so some of the things I normally can get done just aren't happening this year. I will let you know when I have an answer from the Mill, but I'm pretty sure we have been frugal enough in the last couple of years and people have been so generous with the raffles, it will not be a problem for the chapter to buy breakfast this year.

If anyone else has thought of questions I have not answered, please ask. As I said, I'm not at full strength yet, but the plans are in place. I'm more than happy to explain.

Take Care,
Kristy

I just updated the first post to include the latest information. Mark and I will finally get to start our trip on the 7th so I have to have my paperwork for your welcome packets printed. Any changes that happen between now and the rally will have to be done at the rally.

We are getting excited and loading up the new Landmark with the rally stuff. It is HOT here and that doesn't look like it is going to change until we get to the coast in three weeks. Kona and Harry are excited too. Kona knows we are going camping. Harry is just excited because he is a puppy and doesn't know any better! :)

Have a good weekend everyone!!!!

Got the rig washed today. Started getting things packed inside and will finish that tomorrow. Need to get truck fueled up also tomorrow. Wife and I are getting excited about our first Oregon Rally. Leaving on Thursday and will make a few stops along the way to North Bend. Going to spend 1 week in Redding, Calif to see friends and family in that area then head up to Seven Feathers for two nights then on to the Mill Casino and wait for the rest to show up.

Safe travels to everyone and see ya at the Mill.

Some disappointing news..... Pat and Dave Hole have had to cancel due to some health concerns. We wish Dave all the best and hope for a speedy recovery.

We are at Casey's right now and leave for Maryhill in the morning. Only a few days until we reach Monitor. We will be there next Monday!

Sorry, if this link below represents what's happening, and there have been no changes, then I think we're good to go. If not, your feedback will be appreciated.

Hello Kristy, I trust you are healing well. Look forward to meeting you and all the other Heartland owners as well. It's getting close to our leave date (10 Mile Lake then the rally afterwards), and was wondering if there's an event profile anywhere here. What we're basically looking for is what and when we need to bring things (meals, ect), and a calendar of events if there is one.

Of course anything you or fellow Heartland owners can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance and see you all at North Bend
