EVENT: Heartland Regional Rally: CA, Temecula - 10/10/2013 to 10/14/2013

Nancy and I arrived here yesterday (Wed). We don't have our RV this trip. We flew into San Diego and drove up. Did our laundry at the CG when we got here, then had dinner out with John and Lori. Also spent some time with Tom and Lorraine at their Sundance.

Today, Nancy and I drove up to Moreno Valley to have lunch at our beloved Portillo's Hot Dogs We're nuts - I know

We're in Old Town Temecula this afternoon, checking out all the shops.

We may come back here for dinner tonight.

On our way to Moreno Valley late this morning, we saw a Big Country and a Bighorn heading south. Maybe to the rally?

Having a nice time in the area. Yesterday (Thu), Nancy and I drove north for Chicago-style food!

Then we visited Old Town Temecula, walking main street and visiting all the local shops. Then we stopped at the RV park and visited with a large group of Heartlanders. It began to get chilly, then some went indoors to make dinner.

Nancy and I went out to dinner to a local Mexican restaurant called Lucy's. It's one of Bob & Patty's favorites. Bob and Patty came with as did Trace and Terry and one other couple (whose name escapes me - sorry).

After dinner, we donated to the local indian economy.

Yesterday, I spent time in the campground meeting even more Heartlanders here for the rally, answering questions, crawling under RVs and looking at the Landmark Key Largo that Giant RV brought out.

After lunch, Nancy and I went to see the movie Captain Phillips. Great flick!

At 5pm all rally attendees met at the club house for the meet-n-greet. Snacks? I'd say "heavy appetizers" or what most of us called "dinner" John and Lori gave out some fabulous door prizes too. Fun times.

Tonight, the club is taking all attendees out to dinner at the casino buffet. Yum!

Great dinner compliments of Heartland. But the best thing is we did a spur of the moment fund raiser for the German Shepherd Rescue of San Diego, and collected drum roll please. $200.00 way to go Heartlanders. Thanks everyone it is really appreciated.

Dena Martin who is one of the members of the Southern California chapter. And who fosters many of the German Shepherds from the San Diego rescue group sent a big THANK YOU to everyone.

This has been an awesome rally. The meet-n-greet with tons of food and the buffet at the casino continue the tradition of "no one goes hungry." We have met some really great people from CA and NV (also TN) . We are fortunate to have been able to be in the area at the right time.
