EZ-Flex Suspension

I have an Dexter EZ-Flex Suspension on our 2012 Bighorn 3070RL, it tows great, but after making one 3K trip with it and getting close to another I just realized that it has grease zirks and bronze bushings which have to greased every 3K miles. Don't know what made me think about checking on it but I'm glad I did. I don't remember seeing paperwork but the three ring binder is in the trailer.
Has anyone lubed this suspension? How did you go about it? Did you have to jack the trailer up in order to get the grease into the inner area's of the suspension?

I grease mine all the time they are the only 3 fittings that point out, I have the rest on the inside so I don't have to pull the wheels to grease them.

We have hydraulic jacks, so I extend them to unload the wheels and hit all the fittings on the wetbolts and ez-flex.

I checked mine every summer and I can say after 4 years and 20k miles everything has been good.
I think its due to wheel balancing.
I have some std. equalizers ready. To instal when they fail. That is if they do fail.

The Mfr's literature says that they are "Lifetime" and on the link I previously posted they show a bushing that has 100,000 miles of use - you can't see any wear on it.

BTW, the original bushings they took off my rig when they installed the NeverFail Bushings were less than 3 years on the road and were wearing out in several places: 027.jpg

Lifetime and you don't need to grease any more. Win-Win!

Moved the Bighorn out from beside the garage to jack and lube the zerks on the EZ Flex suspension and even though the information on the kit showed more then 2 zerks that was all I found on each side. So I guess the set up on a new trailer is not the same as what you would bet if you ordered the kit and had the upgrade installed by self or someone else.
After finding that out the "Lifetime Bushings are high on the to do list".

I am going to put a lifetime set on mine or have them installed by a shop. I have no grease fittings with equa-flex and plastic does not cut it. I installed wet bolts and Equa-flex on my last rig. After some time the wet bolts did not want to take grease. I had to work at it to get grease in them so I like the idea of no grease.

Had the Neverfail bushings installed today. Only 5000 trailer miles and the nylon bushings looked good, but hopefully these will be better in the long run.........

I am a bit skeptical of the Never Lube bushings. For only one reason and that is that they are made from polyamide. Nylon is a polyamide and the original bushings are Nylon. So why are these thnigs any better. Anybody know for sure?

They also now make a 5th wheel slip plate out of the stuff.

I have only 2 zerks on my EZ Flex.

When I had wet bolts with heavy duty shackles installed after 12k miles, several of my factory bushings (orange plastic) were worn completely through.
After comparing the factory plastic bushings to the Neverfail bushings, I opted to go with the heavy duty bronze bushings.
They just look alot more substantial . IMHO. Trace

Was it expensive to have it done?

Had mine done at Camping World... They did a quick efficient job. Used big lifts on each side of the trailer by the frame towards rear. Used floor jacks to support axles and jack stands on frame each side for safety. Removed wheels and installed new bushings. I watched process - they made it look so simple using those big lifts. Original nylon bushings showed no wear, but I'll have piece of mind with the neverfails..... Job was right at $195.00 total.
