Duane,
The Gas Struts under our bed are called Master Lift. They are made by Stabilus Corp.
Here is their Link: http://www.stabilus.com/home.html
The ones I have are 20 inches long extended. As for the weight they hold, I couldn't see the model number but I did find the company makes two different weight levels for this strut.
> Model # - Extended Length - Force - Rod/Tube Size
# 5768 RK 20.00" - 2-Stage Inter-stop - 80 Lbs. - 8mm x 18mm
# 5769 RE 20.00" - 2-Stage Inter-stop - 60 Lbs. - 8mm x 18mm

Those were standard equipment on Landmarks and Bighorns until ours came out. I'm glad in a way. The extra weight dontcha know...We have a small safe mounted under the bed to store things like our passports and other valuables we need to lock up.
