fresh water drain valve has disappeared ??

I bleached out my lines today and normally after I'm done I go outside under the trailer on the off door side and open the valve to let any remaining bleach water drain out. The line and valve are gone !! With that said, the guys had to replace my underbelly last fall, so could they of removed the line/valve ?? I can't Imagine how they could of forgotten to poke it through ?? the line is that hard plastic 1/2 pec tubing so don't think the underbelly would of been able to be installed without that poking through. Now my question--- If I just keep the water pump on till no more water comes out of the line, would the tank be empty ?? Is that hard on the pump or anything else ?? Is there any other way to get the water out of the holding tank ??

Thanks,
Bobby A

If they cut it off and didn't cap it, you should be seeing water dripping from the coroplast someplace. Probably just folded it up and didn't think twice about it.

You are talking about the fresh water tank drain, yes? That's the only drain tube on my ODS. The other two on the DS are the low point drains.

No water dripping, THANK GOD !! and yes I'm talking about the fresh water tank ?? I guess I will have to take down some of the underbelly and see if I can see it.

Yes you can use the pump to drain the tank with no ill affects. Matter of fact, on our coach, there is a valve setting for power draining of the fresh water tank using the pump.

Bobby, I bet it's in there. Stick your hand or fingers in the hole and locate it. You can probably make a hook of some kind and pull it back out. Happened to me.

Hi Bob, thats just it !! there is no hole !! they replaced the underbelly, I wish there was a hole so I could do as you said and try to fish it through. I just hate crawling around on my hands and knees under there. I know its not that big of a deal, I will just have to unscrew several screws and try to reach it. I can't quite remember exactly where it was though, it was either behind the real axle or in between the 2 axles, I never thought that would be something I would have to remember !!

Bobby, you need someone with the same unit to tell you where their hose comes through. Maybe give you some measurements.

Good thought Netem, who's got a 2010 3580 Big Horn that can tell me about where the fresh water low point drain is under the trailer, I know its on the off door side.

Thanks,

Pinehurst and 3580 are the same floor plan. On my Pinehurst the fresh water tank drain is about 8" in from the ODS frame and about 3" in front of the rear axle.

Bobby, thats about where mine is on the Horn. I dont think I would put a hole there unless you can see the drain hose. Drop the underbelly on that side and look. Use something to mark where the hose is and only make a hole big enough to get the valve thru. Then fill the hole with expanding foam.

Thats great advise as always Bob, that is what I will do, I may be able to get to it this afternoon, I will post back.

Update :

Just a you all said, it was tucked up under there, I made a hole and shoved it through. I have some good thick black duct tape that I used to seal the hole for now.

Thanks everybody,
Bobby
