Friends from Texas in SOB, visited us here in Escalante, UT had a Townax blowout around Page, AZ... They had no prior knowledge of the wide spread problems with this tire. Are they still being supplied to USA manufacturers? Does anyone know if anything is being done to stop this diluge of defects? The tire is long gone but here is the

damage he received. He still has one more which he now will replace before it blows. I would be very concerned with this tire if I had them. Thanks to this forum he may have been saved yet another headache.

A day doesn't go by without another report of a blowout in this forum. I just don't understand***********.

Went to the Goshen Rally and went on the factory tour. Toured the Oakmont and Sundance being made and looked to see what tires they were using and wouldn't you know it..TOWMAX..looked at the tires on the landmarks sitting outside and NO TOWMAX on them.

ON EDIT:: I should have said.
Guess the more you spend on the unit the more likely you are to get a better tire to take you down the road with less of a chance of a failure and damage to your unit or possible loss of your time and sanity.

I don't think Landmarks have ever used Towmax, a Load Range E tire. They have come with Load Range G and more recently Load Range H tires.

Gee, that's a bit snarky. Some things are standard on some products - no matter the product - that are options on more basic products. That holds true whether it's an RV or an automobile or a blender. JMHO

Your right Martha and it was not a nice thing to say but it is the truth. With all the problems with the towmax tires and all the damage done to units why are they still using them?

Great question.... "Heartland Listens to its' customers" is what I've come to understand..

Again it's an upper priced unit. What about the rest of the lower priced units? Don't they deserve safety while driving down the road?

Moved on to the next thing...
Our 2015 Heartland Prowler had BlowMax tires on it from the factory . . .

Our 2013 Heartland Trail Runner, which we just traded in for the new one, had BlowMax tires from the factory as well (still have them on the factory wheels on my deck), but had just replaced them with new tires and wheels a week before we traded it in.

Since the new tires were the same size as what was on the Prowler (and only had 80 miles on them) I had the dealership swap the tires before we took delivery.

My understanding is that Heartland is moving away from the TowMax tire. What that means in terms of a timeline, I'm not sure, but tire selection is a known industry hot point -- not just Heartland is having issues. Recently RVIA held a webinar discussing tire safety and selection, that was geared specifically to manufacturers and dealers.
