Do any of you guys have a gap in your Rear Window Gasket?

Is it normal?

I don't know if it works but I've been told you can pull out the whole gasket and soak it in a pail of really hot water and reinstall it and it will strech back out.

Marc, Had the same issue with the rear window on my 181. Spoke with a Tech. at the dealership and was told to remove the gasket beyond the first corner and stretch the gasket sufficently to fill the gap as you replace it. I've had to do this a couple of times. John

Marc, evem after stretching it, in the long term it will shrink again. Once you stretch it you could install it with the gap at the top. It's really not a gasket per say. It's really just a trim piece.

If you contact the window manufacturer, they will probably direct you to a retailer that will sell the trim. I replaced the trim on a section of our rear window after it shrank and pulled out of the corner. It's vinyl and does not like heat and direct sun for long.

I sent Heartland the pictures and they told me to either fill it in, or replace it.
