Glass shower doors

Upon reading on another forum, a poster said that w/o warning the glass on his home shower blew apart sending glass everywhere. Fortunately no one was near it when it happened. Wa not a sliding door but rather a fixed piece. Cosensus that the house settled just a smidge enough for this to happen. So after reading this, it got me to thinking about the glass sliding doors in RV's or any glass shower enclosure. How often have they broken? Any way to prevent it? What to do if it happens? What if it happens when someone is in bathroom or taking a shower?

The glass in the sliding door should be safety glass. Look for an etched logo in the bottom corner to confirm. Shower glass should be safety glass also as it is required by federal law.

It is safety glass but if you hit the edge of the door hard enough with an object it will shatter.
