We loved it, we spent Christmas week there at the state park. We heard from some fellow campers that "Goose Island" was also good, but we did not get a chance to check it out. There is also the Padre Island National Seashore right down the road also. Check them out on the internet. There are also 3 or 4 RV parks on the island, depends on what you are looking for.
