Here She Comes!

Alright, I am just too excited! I got the call I have been waiting on...my 2015 Cyclone 4200 is at the dealer. We will make the long trek to Ohio to pick her up (10 hours)! I am so excited I can't contain myself so I just had to share with the people who really would understand! I know exactly what I am going to do during the PDI and insurance is getting set up in the next day or so. Anyone have any last tips for someone purchasing so far away and then immediatly towing the trailer 700 miles back home?

Congrats on your purchase. Do a real thorough PDI & ask all the questions you want. Tow carefully on your 700 miles back, you can have rough weather. Keep in mind that any Heartlad dealer can do the work. All the best on your new purchase and happy traveling.

Congratulations... it is very exciting to pick up a new trailer!!!

Watch the weather, survey the route on the way up and try to stay away from road construction on the way back. Nothing will get you acclimated to driving your big new trailer quicker than a good long stretch of road construction with tractor trailers flying by on the left and concrete barriers on the right... in a pouring rain storm.

Drive Safe!!!

Stay at or near the dealer for a couple of days in case any questions arise or something needs to be adjusted. Discuss this in advance with the sales and service managers. If you do need something, you'll want them to agree ahead of time to put you at top of list.

Plan on 2 days for your return trip. Keep the speed under 65.

Congrats! Do you have a list of questions and things to look at?
I will shortly be in the same boat and would like to know :)
What color did you get? Full body?

@300winmag. I couldnt quite convince myself to spend the premium on the full body paint. I got the hd package with red graphics. I have a list started of things i want to be sure and check on.. Its not complete yet but will be soon.

Recommend staying in the area of the dealer for a few days. As you use the rig more and more you will either identify items that need to be adjusted and/or you will have questions. Bring a labeler and label your switches. The first modification I made on my 4200 was getting battery operated LED lights with a push button switch to light up the switch panel at night.

Same for me as soon as we get some snow melt. Interested too to know what list of questions you intend to check on. Thanks!

+1 this suggestion. you will almost certainly find some things for them to fix after you spend the night in it. I took delivery of my Cyclone and Spent the weekend locally, made a list, and took it back following Monday. I actually drove home without my rig and came back following weekend, but I am only 150 mi. away.

Whats everyone getting pulling there 4200's or 4100's mileage wise? I am guessing around 6mpg? I just picked up the new truck for the trip this weekend. I have a 2013 F350 DRW 6.7 Powerstroke with a 3:73 rearend and 14000GVWR package.

I'm pulling a 3914 Cyclone with a 2013 HD 3500 4x4 Duramax and I average 9.5 mpg loaded.

Welp, there was in issue which makes us not be able to pick the trailer up. Thank god we didn't get on the 10+ hour road trip! For some reason or another the trailer came in with the wrong graphics color. The color that the trailer came in with was copper which we aren't fans of...so they are going to switch us trailers to a trailer they have in stock that has all of the options we ordered minus G Rated tires (they will take the G rated tires\wheels and move them to the new trailer) and we also get two extra options in the garage TV and the arctic package. They are not charging us for these options so I am comfortable with that. Can someone tell me exactly what is in the arctic package? We didn't need that option but its a nice to have! Anything I should watch out for since this is all changing now? Now we will wait to pick up in March but thats ok too. maybe the snow will be gone!

Cd....maybe a good thing as the weather here today is horrible. We live about 30 miles west of RV Wholesalers. It is snowing with blowing snow 26 mph wind and 19 degrees the high tomorrow is going to be around 6 degrees. Hopefully March is much better.
