Hooking to 5th wheel with a crew cab

It looks like my problem is a combination of the shortbed and the BAKFlip G2.

My other truck wa short bed with BakFlip cover. I was able to back into the hitch with the cover down using the red tape. Turning was the problem, so I towed with the cover up. Worked for me until I traded for Dually/long bed.
