It was given to me by a gun shop owner down the street from us..not sure where he got em but that gives me a "legitimate" reason to swing by the shop and ask!! Lol

That is a cool sign...now to find one for Florida.
Somehow, "Trespassers will be shot, Survivors will be prosecuted!" is a little wordy for some.
"Never mind the dog, the owner is ARMED"
And they go on.
Sad that we've come to this point, but we do have to take some responsibility for our own well being, and those we love.
Carry on.

Google "Castle Law Signs" and you will find plenty, including Florida. Wonder what the response would be in one of those "No Gun" rv parks?

I would rather be alive to find out what they would say vs dead and beyond caring.

Anybody see the news about the 6 campers, adults and children who were killed a few days ago here in Texas?

Why say anything? I would rather not advertise one way or another. If you say you have guns then the crooks know where to get them. If you say you don't the crooks know where they can go in relative safety. It is kind of like putting a NRA sticker on you car. You let the car burglars know where guns are available. As for me I would rather keep them guessing.

Defense lawyers will advise that a cute/clever sign may just be enough to tilt a jury toward a conviction after you use your firearm. Prosecutors unsympathetic to your self-defense argument will use the sign to portray you as a gun nut who was just waiting to injure/kill someone.

Well...yeah...this is texas...it's my house......my defense is the law warned you....my sign warned you...you chose to violate my safety and rights....at that point the sign is moot...pew pew...we're all a bunch of crazy gun toting Republicans ya know?..lol...but seriously?

Sorry, but I'm not publicly sharing where I may, or may not, store any long guns or handguns in the RV. Some thieves are getting smarter. Look around your RV or home. Be creative. You don't have to spend a lot of money on new furniture.

Old thread I know, anyone know if the RV looks like a vehicle, or a home when it comes to castle law, carry law, etc?
I have a TN permit but wasnt sure how it works when I enter other states where it is no longer valid, if a gun in the trailer would be an issue if it was not accessible to the vehicle operators....

I'm pretty sure there's no standard treatment of RVs across the nation. But in general, if you're hooked up to your tow vehicle, you're more likely to be viewed as a vehicle, subject to vehicle search laws. If you're hooked up to utilities, you're more likely to be viewed as a residence.

The more significant factor is whether the state is hostile to gun ownership. For example: Federal law allows you to legally travel from a legal gun ownership state, to another legal gun ownership state, legally crossing a middle state where gun ownership is illegal, as long as you meet the storage requirements. However, New York state will arrest you and confiscate your weapon(s). You'll have to return for a court appearance at which time the court will allow you to present an affirmative defense based on the Federal Law (which trumps state law). So you'll be found not guilty. How much will it cost you? A boatload.

If going from Iowa to Indiana on I-80, make sure your weapons are properly stored and don't stop in Illinois for more than fuel and maybe lunch. If you stay overnight, Illinois is likely to argue that the Federal Law doesn't apply because you weren't just driving through.

Illinois law allows a non-resident to transport a firearm as long as its in a case and not immediately accessible or is broken down to a non-functioning state.

There are several websites that have good information on the various state gun laws. Legal Heat and USCCA (I’m a member) are two that I look at.

Still trying to figure out how to get my baby up-into the camper. Then I can worry about where to put it...
