The hydraulic pump kicks out when putting the slides in or out. Also when i retract the landing gear. Seems ok when I level up. Seems like a solenoid is kicks out. After I wait a minute it will work again. Lipport system. Any ideas what I could check?

There's a row of 12V DC mini circuit breakers near the battery, probably covered by a red rubber boot. One breaker supplies power to the hydraulic pump, and what you're experiencing is pretty common. There are several possible causes:

- weak battery
- dirty/corroded connections at the battery terminals, buss bar, or hydraulic pump
- loose connections, including loose crimps
- weak 50 amp mini circuit breaker
- mechanical binds.

I'd suggest you run down this list and if don't find a problem with the first 3 items, replace the breaker. They're generally $5-10. You want a 12-24V DC auto reset 50 amp breaker with the same form factor so it'll mount on the buss bar. Takes maybe 10 minutes to replace. I think you need a 5/16" socket to remove the nuts.

I've attached a picture of my buss bar. If you look for the thick wires as pictured, you should be able to figure out which goes to the hydraulic pump. Your buss bar breakers could be in a different order.

You have a week auto reset circuit breaker.
It is 50amp
You probably have a bad connection, bad ground, or low batteries, or all of the above.
I would address all of these issue before you replace the 50amp circuit breaker.

I had been having this issue this winter with the cold weather and thick oil.
I just deleted the 50amp and installed the new 80amp and of course this solved my problem.

I just checked the torque on my pump terminals. 3 were loose. They were tightened 12 months and 3000 miles ago by myself.

Thanks all. I added fluid and changed the breaker. Landing gear went through 2 cycles with no problem. Have not worked the slides but I have a good feeling about it. Thanks again. Also tightened the connections on the pump.

I've seen them at Marine stores to. Not sure if you have any near you. And I'm not 100% sure but maybe even Bass pro shop in the boat section.

Found more options on Amazon

OK Great forum minds,

After researching these 80amp breakers starting with the Lippert recommendation of this:

Screen Shot 2017-03-31 at 11.35.19 PM.jpg

Can I use a similar one such as Jarrod did above,

or this one:

Screen Shot 2017-03-31 at 11.34.10 PM.jpg

or can I use an auto-reset like this one?

Screen Shot 2017-03-31 at 11.31.38 PM.jpg

Why would I want it to be manual reset, instead of auto-reset?

I see the difference is 48V vs 30V, but not sure what that means in this use.

Thanks in advance.

Erika

Erika I noticed that those you found say 30 Volt and 48 Volts. I really don't know if that's a problem. I think you want to stick with the 12-24 volt units. The 80amp shouldn't ever trip so the manual reset shouldn't be a problem. If you find a 12V - 24V 80amp auto reset I'd get it ?

The first one is the same as seen in Lippert's LIP sheet:

Thanks for this great post. We have had these issues with the hydraulics and I will go through the trouble shooting list ASAP on the 2017. The auto resetting circuit breaker was the culprit in our 2012 Grand Canyon and we had to order from Heartland as we couldn't find otherwise. Thanks again!!!
