Those are both awesome...there was a time I can somewhat remember when I could go in my shop and get creative with my free time....

Anymore I look for the easy way....a solution in can buy....

you would think that the manufacturer would provide or at least make available a plug

I found the grinding of the taper and the clean up the worst part. And using plumbing pvc caps wasn't the cheapest method.

But as soon as someone figures a way to mold these out of plastic. The manufacterer would probably start producing them and if these are imported products. There would be no way to compete. Maybe heartland could suggest a plug to the manufacturer. It's just a simple product but like you said. Requires the proper tools.

Another option would be a solid replacement plate with the same hole pattern. Just pop out the cup and screw back on a round plate if you thought you would never use the table legs
