We didn't care for the narrow, tapered bottom step on our 3160 so we made a little modification. The original ones had a metal edge that was hard on bare feet as well. I removed the treads and replaced them with standard house size ones and added some left over carpet. It always seems cluttered around the door area so I added a piano hinge to the bottom one and made a little hidden shoe storage area below. I had to modify the bottom step to make room for the folding Morryde steps.
