Maybe this will help someone. The manual connection for the bunk house slides is on the opposite side frame rail. There is no room to use the tool provided by Heartland if the adjacent slide is retracted. If one slide is stuck in, and one is stuck out, you're stuck 
The tool might be modified (shortened) to fit in a drill motor but it's still going to be tight. A nicely dressed hole in the slide out skirt might be (have been) a better solution.
