New Campground in Port Lavaca, Texas

Went exploring the other day as I had heard about a new RV park going in. It is new and very nice. Texas Lakeside RV Resort is really nice, new and is a class A place. The owners are sparing no expense. There are no big trees now,, but in a few years will have some as he has planted 100 oaks and is in the process of planting 400 palm trees. The club house is super nice as are the showers and restrooms. The pool is great with a hot tub and shelters also. It also has a man made lake with pier. This would be a great place for winter Texans.

Port Lavaca is an old Texas seaport town with lots of history in the area. The original downtown area has lots of the old shopping and tourist shops. There is a fairly new area with HEB and Walmart and all the others also. Lots of great fishing and picnic shelter areas on the bay water also. The area is just an old laid back coastal fishing town. Just South of Port Lavaca is Seadrift, Tx., it was where the camels were brought into Texas for the Army, it was one of the first seaports on the Texas coast and it was washed away a couple of times by hurricanes and not much left there, just fishing and summer homes and private RV sites.

Apparently it isn't just for motorhomes. I looked at the photos on their website, & they had photos of a 5er & a tt parked on their sites.

From their Rates page, "We do not accept FEMA TRAILERS Tents, Small Pop-ups, Truck Campers and Van Conversions." It looks like everything else is a go.
