All I have to do with mine is to turn it off at the remote pennent when I hook up my Honda 3000

I'm not sure what this means. Does your surge protector allow you to turn it off completely or bypass it?

Yes if you have the hardwired model with the remote, you can shut the system off and then it will not shut off automatically thinking you have an issue.

You can buy the the remote pennant fairly cheep and it plugs right in to your EMS unit its just a flat 4 phone cord.

I may be wrong, but if you purchased the one with the display on the unit itself, you can't add a remote switch to it.

Thanks for the info! We have a SurgeGuard so we'll have to check if it has an RJ11 jack.
