New owners of a Big Horn

We bought a 2008 Big Horn in Elkhart at Great Lakes rv center and picking it up Sept 4 .
That will be a 31 hour drive because we live in Alberta Canada on are way
back we camp en visit Mt Rushmore are there more interesting things we
can,t miss we have 2 weeks to drive back.

Hello Ann1951, You must see Custer State Park that is close to Mt Rushmore A lot of wildlife and Tunnels DO NOT TAKE YOUR 5ER ON THE ROAD it's NARROW drop it off 1st at the campground beautiful drive TRAVELER07

Stay at Custers Gulch RV Park. It is a great place to stay. When you pickup your Bighorn remember to do a thorough PDI then stay at Elkhart RV park in Elkhart IN to checkout the trailer for things you may have missed. Test everything twice.

Hello ann1951. Welcome to the Heartland Forum & Family. That's quite a haul to pick up your trailer. You must have found a really good deal. Did you find a leftover new one or a nice used one? Have a safe trip both ways.

Thanks for the nice welcome .
We found a nice used one a 3055 RL 2008 we only looked at pic's and it looked good
so when we are there we stay on there campground for 2 days to cheque everything
out before we hand over the cheque.

I bought ours through Great lakes RV Center, good folks to work with. They really went above and beyond to help us out when the trailer did not roll off-line on time, but that's is what happens when you try to pick it up on the day it is done. Welcome to the Heartland family.

While in the area of Mt. Rushmore be sure to drive the Iron Mountain Road...great sceneray...and...a couple of tunnels that picture frame Mt Rushmore.

The Black Hills of South Dakota is a great place to visit. So much to do from 1880 Railroad train to Crazy Horse Monument, Needles highway, Wind Cave National park, Custer State Park, the town of Deadwood up to Devils Tower. Plan to spend at least a week. We stayed in Hill City at Rafter J Bar Resort. Nice place.
