Niagara Falls Trip

We are looking to take a few days and visit the Niagara Falls area (US side). Does anyone have any suggestions on a nice campground in the area?

Try either of these:

Both have bus service to the Falls so you don't have to fool with parking.

IMO the Canadian side provides a nicer tourist experience but I'm told it's cheaper to camp on the U.S. side.

  U.S. and Canadian citizens will need to present either a WHTI-compliant document, or a government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, plus proof of citizenship, such as a birth certificate. DHS also proposes to begin alternative procedures for U.S. and Canadian children at that time.
• LATER
  At a later date, to be determined, the departments will implement the full requirements of the land and sea phase of WHTI. The proposed rules require most U.S. citizens entering the United States at sea or land ports of entry to have either a U.S. passport; a U.S. passport card; a trusted traveler card such as NEXUS, FAST, or SENTRI; a valid Merchant Mariner Document (MMD) when traveling in conjunction with official maritime business; or a valid U.S. Military identification card when traveling on official orders.

If you do the KOA at NF plan to pay $$$$$ the sites are small and you are right on a major highway also there is a roller coaster park next door...but you can get a tour to pick you up at your site....

We stayed at the Niagara Falls North/Lewiston KOA in October 2006. It was possibly the worst KOA that we've ever stayed at. The spaces were small (couldn't walk between ours and our neighbor's slides), the crusher run needed to be redone as there were large tire ruts in the lots, outside our door to our picnic table was a lake when it rained, and finally we had to park our truck in the site behind us as the sites weren't long enough to handle a 38 footer and a TV.

On the brighter side, it was in a quiet area well off the main highways.

I would like to thank everyone for all the information. We might look for a campground 10-20 miles from the Falls. We are going to stay for a couple of days and would like a site that is a little larger than some of those mentioned. We also look for a nice playground and swimming area. We have a 5 year old and seeing that she is the boss , we need to keep her happy.
