North Trail - Awning repair

At the top of my awning, on top, there what appears to be spots where the top layer has popped. It they run the whole length of the awning. Like small bubbles have popped. the under side of the awning doesn't seem to have any damage at all. My question then is what is the best way to repair this without replacing the whole thing?

You can buy awning repair tape at Wally World. Its clear and very sticky. I think its made by Camco.

I have used the tape and while it sticks well, it is a little difficult to deal with. wrinkled but stuck. I was thinking that using the rubber roof finishing sealant if I have problems in the future. It would seal the cracks and is very pliable.
