Does anyone know of a good rv park near Council Bluffs, IA or Omaha, NE? Cant seem to find one with very high reviews. Will be in the area for a month or two.

In looking at holding a rally in the area, I found several private rv parks.
The West Omaha KOA is fairly well rated but I have not visited that park yet.

The other private campground I found was
Pine Grove RV Park

It is located on I-80 between Omaha and Lincoln.
The biggest issue I see for this RV Park is that it is directly adjacent to I-80. I guess if you like noise it probably would be fine. I try to avoid parks that have an Interstate view in the backyard. I have not actually visited this campground yet so I cannot comment on other features though.

Originally from Omaha and still have family in the area. There are no really good choices for RV parks in the area. We have stayed at the West Omaha KIA which is convenient to the West side of Omaha. Spaces are very close together from what I remember, but it is closer and better than your other choices.

I came to the same conclusion when trying to schedule a rally. No really good choices of RV parks but there are a number of options in the area that could be good compromises.

Mahoney and Louisville are too full of knuckleheads from Omaha/CB in our opinion. We try to avoid those when we can. Viking Lake State Park is a nice place, though it may be a little too far for the original poster from Omaha/CB.

I spoke with my brother who stills lives in Omaha and he agreed.......Best choice for a place to stay with a family would probably be the West Omaha KOA.

Has your brother aeen the Desoto Rv park between Missouri Valley and Blair? Or Riverview park and resort north of Blair? I just found those two places and am wondering what they are like. That is much closer to where I need to be. 10-15 minute drive to work and nack versus 45 to an hour.

The only thing he knew about these two was that the Riverview park outside of Blair was under new ownership that had taken over after the park was basically ruined in the floods about 3 years ago. Some friends of his told him the new owners had done a good job fixing the place up. No info on Desoto.

Sorry I couldn't be more help!

This summer the rally will be in Dubuque, Iowa.

Eventually I would like to hold a rally around Omaha but at this time that idea is on hold until I find a suitable location.
Come join us at the Iowa rally this summer and help me out with ideas on locations and dates for future rallies.
