Outer Banks

We are planning a trip to the Outer Banks in the spring and was wondering if any of you have stayed at Sands of Time campground in Avon, North Carolina. It looks like a nice place but we have learned that the internet pictures and description sometimes don't tell the whole story.

We stayed at Camp Hatteras. Well, for 48 hours, then we fled the July hurricane.

Nice people, nice campground.

Been to Avon many times but stayed in a rental. Have ridden our bicycles past the park. It's on the sound side of the highway but not on any water. Looked clean and organized from the street. To repeat previous posts "good reviews on RV Park Reviews" also very good reviews on Trip Advisor.

I have several friends who have camped there several times and speak highly of it.

We stayed there for 4 days in 2010 and really liked the park. At that time the folks running the park were very friendly and helpful, giving us info about restaurants and sites in the area. Good location too as you can see most of the outer banks on day trips from the park.
