That helps a lot. Thank you. When you wipe it, do you use a rag? Or some sort of scrubby?

I used a metal tool (kind of like a coat hanger) yesterday, and then sprayed with silicon. That seems to be helping. If the problem reappears shortly, I'll try the hot water trick.

After cleaning the toilet, I use a bare finger on the underside of the opening so I can feel the surface and rub off any buildup not from the manufacturer. It's easy to tell by feel when it's clean. Usually only takes 20-30 seconds. I know - ewwww. But it's really not all that gross and a little soap and water is all it takes to get over it.

And btw, I thought we were supposed to use DW's toothbrush!
