Pressure Tank

Has anyone installed a small pressure tank in the water line to eliminate the constant pump running when a water valve is opened?
I have seen some 2 gallon ones at Lowe's and Menards. Do they work well?
Anything special for winterizing the pressure tank , or just follow the regular procedure for winterizing.
Thanks
Dan

HPIM7629.jpgI found a small bladder tank and installed it per the pick attached.
Just behind the access panel so I can shut it off anytime. We go south for the winter so winterizing is not a problem.

I have used a surflow accumalator tank for years, one of the best things I have added. It is small and easy to install and I run about 20 psi in it. There are no winterizing problems as I keep it in a heated garage in the winter.

I also installed the Shurflo tank. Works great. We winterize through the 3-way pump valve and all is well. Our rig suffers through zero degree temps with no problems.

If your pump is one of the newer style variable speed pumps, an accumulator tank is not recommend by the manufacturer.
