I noticed that in my BH 3055RL there is what appears to be a regulator on the RH side just above the tank, but the LH side doesnt have one, the hose goes directly into the automatic switch. Why does one side have the regulator and not the other.

Actually, what you see is exactly right - the way the system is designed. You only need one regulator/tank-switchover - not two, so you will only see it on one side of the fifth wheel.

If the regulator was AFTER the switch I would agree, but there is one on the RH side before the switch and then another built onto the bottom of the auto switch. That's why I'm a little confused.
OK, I'm not sure about that. I though maybe you were just seeing the auto-changeoever switch and wondered why there weren't two. I am going to tell you to snap a digital shot of it and send it to our RV Service Techs and see if you can find out what you are looking at.
