There should be 4 pins that go in holes under the top bunk and hold it up when you lower the bottom. Not sure where they may have hidden the pins but they are about 3 inches long with a ring attached to the end.
It's funny because my wife found those pins but no one explained to us how to keep the upper in place while lowering the bottom. Thank you for your reply.
