There were several TH's at the shows this season that had the patio steps with an accommodating rail/gate from the manufacture. These railings were similar to the Lippert rails that are split in the middle. I think a retro fit of the aftermarket steps would clear the bottom rail closed but would have to be offset and sit in an opening wider than the steps with one of the sides open. ADDED: The Lippert steps look at little narrower where they clamp over the ramp, so the aftermarket steps may not clear the bottom rail. Remember, the railing that is split on the end of the ramp lifts up to open/close
