Remodeled instead of Upgrading!

We decided, after looking at many new units and realizing we loved our current floorplan, to remodel to get what we wanted instead of upgrading.

We needed to do something to tone down the REALLY dark wood...was beautiful when we first got it, but gets "old" after living in it for three years. We changed out the island lighting and antiqued the kitchen island. Installed a residential fridge and new micowave/convection oven, both in stainless steel.

We also added a brighter wall paper to the rear accent wall which was also very dark. Ripped out the carpet and dark kitchen floor and used a vinyl plank flooring all the way through the living area....makes everything much brighter and really changed the look and feel of the Key Largo.

The first two pics are of what she looked like when we first got her...the rest show the changes we made.

I really like the flooring. Definitely snaps up the interior!
Can you still remove the fireplace for maintenance or repair without damaging the smart-tiles?

When we bought our 2013 Bordeux was the only option. I loved it! reminded me of my kitchen at home...didn't stop to think how that dark wood EVERYWHERE would feel after a while....

I used Valspar's Chalk Paint (tinted kid glove), two coats. Then one coat of the Valspar sealing wax, and one coat of the antiquing wax...
