There are always exceptions. My apologies to your friend. I have a couple there also.

If you find someone as old as you are, your odds of good info are increased. But I'm always a little suspect of all the 12 year olds running around giving advice, that have been "trained" . Well, they seem like they are 12 years old. Guess its relative.

I am wondering what the floor condition was when you removed the carpet. I am trying to get an idea of the necessary prep work I will have before having a vinyl product installed.

I ripped up the carpet and vinyl in the living areas of our 3055. Stopped by Home Depot to pick up samples of the Allure. Nice selection and I'm thinking about using the wood design. One suggestion on the link above was to use the rolled underlayment (for laminate) to add insulation and cover flaws in the existing flooring.
The original vinyl is not glued down and was an easy remove. The carpet was installed with a staple gun and it shows. Many, many staples to pull out or hammer down flat.

Just wondering about the transition to use on the slide.
