MTPockets, sorry no Grangers near me to compare, I did try Eastern Marine, but they didn't have any.

It was a 'team effort' Tom by a few forum regulars. Pleased that we were able to give you the info and confidence you needed to make a great self-repair.

One of the reasons (of many) that I like to do my own repairs is the learning. Before the repair, you need to learn what the 'thing' does, how it does it, how it's connected, what else is related etc. Then you need to make the repair. It's all a tremendous learning and that learning can be applied to other needed repairs down the road for yourself or for others.

Once a person gains confidence in self-repairs, the limit gets raised even higher. Then those who've made many of their own repairs start becoming contributors to this forum and become a tremendous asset and resource to others.
