Roof refinish

Hi all. My wilderness camper roof is looking rough and cracked. i want to go ahead and reseal it. was looking at Roof Magic because it seemed easy to use without a lot of prep work. I was also going to seal all seams with Eternabond tape. wondering what is the best or what have you all used? thanks in advance.

Take a look at Henry's Tropi-Cool 887. a lot of reviews on Amazon and Home Depot websites. Pressure wash prep, 1 coat, great sealing. Added benefit of 94% Infrared heat reflectance for hot climates. Good warranty. Available at Home Depot and Lowes along with special caulk for any rips from tree branches, etc. at same stores.

Well, hear is my input, I used to use a product from Home depot called Ultra Siliconizer from a company called Lanco, It goes on blue and dries white. I have very good luck with that and its a 15 year warranty. It worked well, the reason why I know this. We decided to restore our 2010 Bighorn. We just got back from getting the Flex Armor on the roof. The installers said there was NO LEAKS, however the cheap luwen type material under the rubber was chaffing off. So I had a complete new wood installed much thicker than luwen and then the flex armor sprayed on. We can tell the benefits immediately. So much quitier when it rains and it cooler inside with the air on. Like so many others have said, I wish I would of done this years ago, even though I didn't have any leaks in the roof. I went to flex armor in Tennessee, Mike was GREAT. Just my 3 cents worth

What does flex armor cost if I may ask. My 2018 roof has issues

I am getting ready to have the Flex Armor sprayed on at the end of August.

The price is $8200 but Dicor is sending me $2750 to help with the install.

Be sure to send pictures to Dicor and see what they will do for you.

My Landmark was $7500.00 significantly less than a traditional rv roof replacement. I had a price of $ 12000.00 and no lifetime warranty against the Vin. Rv flex armor removes everything from the roof. I took the opportunity and replaced my yellowing shower skylight.
AC's are extremely quiet.
Best note I saved $4500.

Carl,

Your the reason why I decided to go with Flex Armor, your pictures look amazing and I want mine to look that way too.

I'm getting mine done August 31 in York, PA.

Best thing I ever done, well worth the money, I had my done 2 weeks ago, I notice a big difference in quiet when it rains and it seems to stay cooler in the rig when running the a/c. I had a complete tear off and new wood all the way down also bought the roof antenna package, that was about 250.00, my total was 9K, the original quote was 7K if just the spray on without any repairs or antenna. I should of done this a few years ago. I did not have any water leaks but the wood on the roof was just breaking apart like it was peanut brittle.

Bobby A,

What is the antenna package?

Where did you get yours done at?

Do they remove the old roof first? I asked and didn't get an answer.

odelmer1,
The antenna is the king jack I think they call it, its on most newer trailer now, I had the old bat wing style, they suggest to change it out so the old antenna does not hit on the new flex armor. I just went ahead and let them do it. I had my done in Tennessee, it was near pigeon forge, so we dropped the rig off stayed a couple nights in a hotel and went to some shows, we had a nice time and a good experiance. I had zero leaks, but as I said earlier, that my roof was so old and sun damaged I elected to have them do a tear off and new wood which is much much more thicker than what Heartland puts on the roof. My roof now will out last the rest of the trailer LOL Hope this helps

Remember to have your trailer weighed. You have a nice new roof, and thicker heaver roof. Might not be much heaver, but you don't know what you don't know.

Yes, your right, I would suspect it is quite a bit heavier, especially in my case, the new wood they used is quite a bit thicker than OEM, I absolutely love the new roof

Thanks everybody, we do have a King Jack antenna but it's mounted on the crank up post.

Can't wait to get it done.

Yes, I think when they did the flex armor they may of used the original post but I am not certain, I have not been on my roof since the install, I just have many many pictures.

after doing some research, I have decided to go with the Henry's Tropi-Cool 887. Going to use it on my seams, let it cure for 24 hours, then do the whole roof. I can't afford that Flex Armor. Feedback on this plan of action will be appreciated. thanks everyone.
