Rubber Seal Question

The rubber seals on the kitchen slide out on our 2013 3260EL are not unfolding/unrolling when the slide goes out. a small section (6-12") of the seal on the front and a small section (12-16") of the seal on top, remains tucked under. Always in the same spot. I can slide my fingers under the one on the side and fold it out, but the one on top is a pain. These are the only two that do it. Any suggestions on how to stop it???

Some folks in the past have used self-stick automotive trim strips on the slides to help flip the seals in/out. That was primarily on the top of the slide, though. Mine do it, but I just use an old awning rod I have to hook under the seal and manipulate it out. I do the top seals the same way, even though they're covered by slide toppers. For me, it's not big deal since we sit on a summer seasonal site and don't move the slides in and out once we're set up. If you're moving a lot, I can imagine it would get old after not too long.

Mine do the same. My dealer installed some small strips about 1/8 inch high on top of the slide but that did not solve the problem.

Last year at the Gillette Rally I had my slide worked on by Heartland, the tech told me that putting baby powder in an old sock & applying it to the slide seal will help them. I would think it would help them for your problem also. You might apply 303 protectant to them, I've put it on ours, and we've never had them stick like that.

Cleaned the seals top and bottom then applied conditioner. Notice that there is a little difference in the gap on the front of the slide and the rear of the slide on both the passenger side slide and driver side slide. Like the slides are to far forward, is this normal or something that needs to be adjusted. there's no binding or leaks.

If it aint broke...dont fix it. If it does not leak water........leave it alone. I have always done as Johndar does.

I was told not to apply any wax or anything else to the sides of the slide outs to keep them from getting too slippery. If the slides don't have any friction as they rub against them when moving they won't unfold. Makes sense to me. A couple of mine still hang up at times. I usually go around with my yardstick and pop them out......or not...Don

Same problem but only with top wiper seal. Coach still in warranty so I took it to dealer. They said this is a typical problem with long slides. They installed three, two foot strips of rough tape (like that on your steps) about four inches from the outer frame along the top. Problem fixed!:)
