slide seal

Just noticed the top seal on the outside of my rear bunkhouse slide slid back about 18" past the slide itself. Anyone know how to replace or what exactly the seal is called. The guy at camper world in irlando was quite useless as I am on vacation in Disney and he said that he cant do anythibg to help unless he sees the seal. And I do not think removing the old seal until I have a new one in hand is a good idea I also called Lippert and was told I had to call the manufacturer direct for the horizontal seals. Apparently they only do theverticle seals .

So any direction would be greatly appreciated.

My trailer is a 2011 Heartland Sundance 3300CK

Re: slude seal

This has happened before. It sounds like you just need to slide the seal back into place and reinstall the screw that was holding the end of.. some have been putting a dab of sealer or something there to help hold it in place.

I'm sure some of our other members will jump in soon.

Re: slude seal

I just saw how I spelled "slide" ill blame it on fat fingers.

I looked at the seal again. As I thought I saw, the wipeer seal that has the track for the secondary seal is damaged. Blocking the secondary seal from properly attaching. I think it must have been installed at the factory because there is no way using it could have damaged it without damaging the outter seal in the same location.

So I feel I need to replace both.

Upon my second inspection I wanted to see how the wiper seal was attached to the body of the rv. It looks like they used some type of staple. If I do remove the seal to replace, I will have to figure out some other wat to attach as I do not even know what the tool looks like to staple it into place
